Tonight, I thought of a few things that I think I would like to do with my life.
1. I want to be the person who chooses good songs to play in movies and TV shows. I have been catching up on Weeds (both seasons) and the other day I started to think about how great their music selections are, especially because they are played at the exact right times. I want to be the person who said, "Wouldn't it be cool if Elvis Costello or Death Cab sang the theme song?" and "Rilo Kiley's 'With Arms Outsretched' would go well right here." How do you get that job?
2. I also want to make documentaries. I have a fair amount of experience with audio, but I think I want to make film documentaries. Maybe. This idea was actually inspired by my second viewing of The Aristocrats. I'm not sure what would make a good subject at the moment. But I really making a story out of different interviews and smaller stories.
I don't know how to go about doing those jobs. I was asked to come back for another interview at a major corporate coffee chain. I feel like I have a good chance of getting the job. I don't know what I'm doing.
